About Instant Rimshot

Instant Rimshot was created as a joke for friends in my office, an advertising agency in Portland Oregon. It was just a single red button that played a Sting sound effect. I recommended it to friends and people dug it - but it wasn't until Jason Kottke posted a link to the site on his list of Single Serving Websites, things really took off. This was back in the good old days when the website was still simple, it looked like this. After that a whole spawn of "Instant" sound effects sites popped up and there are more and more of them every day.

Between it's launch in January 2008 and this writing on June 6, 2010 the site has been visited 5 million times by 3.5 million unique visitors, from just about every country on earth! It is most popular in the United States, Brazil, The UK, Canada, Netherlands and Germany.
